All types of fizz. I’m a Highland Spring by day, Prosecco/Champagne by night kinda girl (obviously not every night…).
The concept of a Prosecco that isn’t going to do sugar or calorific damage is an appealing one for most I would think. Certainly for me. I embarked upon my second 30 Day Lifestyle Challenge recently, cutting out all added sugar, processed foods, gluten and reducing caffeine and alcohol, so my mind was in a zone where I was seeking out treats that I could look forward to at the weekend that would also be challenge compliant.
Amanda Thomson is the passionate CEO and Founder of Thomson & Scott. Having been brought up on a vegetarian, no sugar diet by her health-conscious single mother, she has always had a keen interest in healthy living.
After a successful career as an Arts Broadcaster at the BBC, Amanda moved her young family to Paris and studied for her Diploma in Wine at the renowned Le Cordon Bleu School to find a way of bringing greater transparency to the wine industry.
Why was Amanda so driven to bring about more transparency in wine labelling? She said;

It makes perfect sense. We spend so much time looking at what’s in our food but hardly any time looking at what’s in our wine. Well, I do anyway. I don’t have all day to spend in a supermarket and I’ve got the food thing well and truly sussed, so I know what to veer towards and what to steer clear of.
Thomson & Scott very kindly sent me a crate of their Mini Prosecco and Sparkler Rosé to celebrate my completion of the Lifestyle Challenge. I gave up alcohol completely for two weeks on the challenge, so popping my Thomson & Scott branded straw into one of Prosecco Minis felt like a well earned treat, even if it was a Tuesday (let’s not pretend we’re all saints…) There’s really nothing better than some cold, crisp bubbles the odd week night after a busy day and running the gauntlet of tea/homework/next day organisation.
What does it taste like? It’s very crisp, very dry and very, very bubbly. A delicious floral, fruity, fizz. The Thomson & Scott Minis are ideal for me as I need a fully functional non-fuzzy head every single day of the week (including weekends!) and definitely don’t want my fizz leading to fuzz, so a little bottle is a perfect sized sparkling treat.
Thomson & Scott Prosecco is produced with 100% organic Glera grapes from the foothills of the Dolomites, which is close to Soligo in North East Italy. Their Champagne is made exclusively by master Champagne maker Alexandre Penet in Verzy, France and their Sparkler Rosé is top quality organic Italian frizzante wine that is also vegan friendly.
I learned on the challenge is that if I’m going to drink alcohol, it’s going to have to be really, really good! I don’t want a glass of anything brimming with sugar and I love the Thomson & Scott philosophy of ‘Drink beautifully. Or don’t drink at all.’
I’ve been conscious of everything that’s in my food over the past 30 days (especially hidden/added sugar), so why wouldn’t I want to do the same with anything that I’m drinking?
